Hey All!
We can’t believe that FYSOP is only in only ONE MONTH!! We have been working very hard on the Children Issue Area and are so excited to share what we have learned.
Our site schedule is now complete! Everyone is anxiously awaiting your visit, with fantastic projects planned for you to help them with.
We have learned so much from all of our site coordinators and various research. While some issues that children are facing have improved significantly, others are continuing to suffer and need your help. We are confident that your service during FYSOP will be extremely valuable for children in Boston.
Send us an e-mail at fysopchildren22@gmail.com with your estimates to the following statistics. Whoever gets closest will win a prize at FYSOP!
Estimate:
The number of cases of child abuse that are reported a year.
The number of children that are in foster care a year.
The percentage of foster kids that become homeless at age 18.
The percentage of children in Massachusetts that live below the poverty line.
The percentage of 3rd graders that passed the Massachusets Comprehensive ASsessment System (MCAS).
